...that you may know
the way you shall go,
for you have not
passed this way before.
Joshua 3. 4
(Even when we find ourselves
in an uncomfortable,
unexpected,
or unfamiliar place,
we can trust God
right in the midst of it.
Sometimes God says go,
sometimes He says stay,
sometimes He nudges us
to "do something different
for Me there."
Wherever we are,
the new or strange,
the common or accustomed,
expected or unforecasted,
we can be a faithful witness,
even in this situation.
What in the world
are we doing here?
Right in His hands.
We may question
if we have made a wrong turn,
but that's when trusting God
comes in,
not what we planned or expect,
but following Him anyway.
We can know we are not on our own.
Even if we don't understand,
we can take His hand.)
O LORD,
We are surrounded by
so many reasons to doubt
ourselves or You.
Please empower us to
listen to Your voice alone.
May we know --and those with us--
that You are the Lord God.
Please help us to not run away
or hide,
or pray away
what You are forming in us.
Equip us to
love these people to You.
Help us to infiltrate this culture
with Your Word and grace.
We are not wandering after all,
but walking with You.
