Your bars shall be
iron and bronze,
and as your days,
so shall your strength be.
Deuteronomy 33.25
(Do we consider that
this hard thing,
this resistance
and seeming impossible task
might instead be
strength training?
When we respond to God,
each day God builds up
our reserves and endurance
incrementally,
not just for now,
but what is yet to come.
To see not difficulty,
but opportunity.
Learning to trust God
a little bit more.
Learning to run with Him.
Learning to lift
the weight of His glory.
Leaning on Him.
As our days,
so shall our strength be.)
O LORD,
May we not try to lift
ourselves up by our bootstraps,
but turn to You
and depend on Your strength.
Please help us to respond to You
and follow You
into what this day brings,
knowing that You are with us.
Build Your strength in us
not just to get through this,
but to be faithful to
Your calling for us.
Help us to exchange
our inadequacies
for Your strength.
May others see
it is not in me,
but You.
As our days,
so shall Your strength be.
