Pour out your heart

              like water

before the Presence of the LORD.

(The beginning of change

    is when we come before the LORD,

pouring it all out to Him,

            our fears,

            our wrongdoing,

            our walking without Him.

Anxiety is just trying

                 to hold it in on our own.

The beginning of change

     is recognizing

     our sins are many,

            His mercy is more.)

O LORD,

We come before You

and pour out like water

all the things that

             pull at us,

        that tear us down,

    that plague us

          in the middle of the night.

But like water,

       they dissolve in Your hands.

When we allow Your forgiveness

             to cover them,

  they no longer define us.

We are Yours.

We come before You

   at the beginning of this day.

Your mercies

          are new every morning.

Help us to comprehend

     we are Your beloved.

Your mercy is more.
