But David remained
     in the wilderness.

         1 Samuel 26.3

(Why in the world am I
in this strange place?
Because God has
strategically placed
      me here
for His purposes,
for His glory,
and for the wellbeing
     of many people.
Sometimes the wild
and the unknown
is the safest place on earth.
The wilderness is
           never barren,
but the site of
tremendous growth
in our relationship with God,
the ripening of His purposes,
the revealing of
         the great beauty
         of who He is.)

O LORD,
May we seek You today
wherever you place us,
in the known and ordinary,
in the wild and unknown.
There You are with us.
Fulfill Your purposes
            in and through us.
Open our eyes
to Your wonders
            all around us.
Use this wilderness time
to prepare and equip us.
Help us to be vastly aware
       of Your Presence
even in strange situations,
       for Your glory
and to bring Your name there.
