And it shall be a tassel

for you to look at

and remember

   all the commandments

   of the LORD,

to do them,

not to follow

   after your own heart

   and your own eyes...

             Numbers 15. 39

(What "tassel" do I need

to remind me

throughout the day

not just what to do,

but who He is?

The LORD is God.

     The LORD is my God.

That alters everything.

God's Word is the tassel

   which changes my heart,

my vision,

to follow Him fully

     into His purposes

             for His glory.

There are

        no ordinary days.)

O LORD,

You have surrounded us

on all sides

with reminders of

       who You are

and that You love us.

Help us today

to follow after Your heart

                  in this

and to see with Your eyes

what You have placed

             right before us.

It is not a pothole after all,

but a foothold

    for Your deeper purposes,

a different direction

              on the very same path.

How can we approach this day

                        differently

because You love us

and we bear Your name?
