The jar of flour
shall not be spent,
and the jug of oil
shall not be empty...
1 Kings 17. 14
(No way that I can do
what is before me.
That is exactly where
I need to be,
realizing my need for Him.
When we trust the LORD,
He brings us through to
a different place
of intimacy with Him.
God protects,
God guides,
God provides.
Living in that reality,
God opens up
the unexpected,
far beyond
our myopic vision
or skill set,
in ways that we recognize
His glory in it.
If this situation was easy,
would we even seek Him?)
O LORD,
You go before us
and have already
provided what we
cannot yet see.
Guide us in ways
of faithfulness to You
that You will be seen
and be glorified.
May we stand
under Your banner
--in God we trust--
that You would not just
guide us
and surprise us,
but point others to You.
There is more to our story
than an empty jar.
