But as one was
felling a log,
his axe head fell
into the water,
and he cried out,
"Alas, my master!
It was borrowed."
Then the man of God said,
"Where did it fall?"
When he showed him
the place,
he cut off a stick
and threw it in there
and made the iron float.
2 Kings 6. 5-6
(God cares for us
even in what just appears
as the "small" stuff.
Have I considered
coming before Him
with this concern
and this "detail?"
We are not
alone in this.
God can make
the iron float.
Sometimes it takes us
to trust Him
with the situation
and the outcome.)
O LORD,
We are all faced
with struggles
and lost axe heads
of varying degrees.
Open our eyes
and our hearts
that we may realize
not just a solution but
Your Presence with us.
What shall we do?
Help us to trust You
even in this,
to listen, to hear,
and to respond to You.
You are not taken
by surprise in this,
but You are already in it .
You are already guiding us
through.
Be thou our vision
and our strength.
You are our God.
May we not live as if
You are not.
