Enlarging Our Vocabularies

 

...but him who has My word

speak My word faithfully.

          Jeremiah 23. 28

God's Word fits all occasions.

In all we do and say,

in how we respond

      wherever we are,

we leave a witness

   to His Word there.

Even when we don't know

   what to say,

God gives us the words

          and His Word

  to minister to others

in unexpected ways,

surprising places,

and among unlikely people.

Bring the name of Jesus 

      into our conversations.

There are no random encounters,

   only divine appointments. 

O LORD,

Make us sensitive 

       to our surroundings.

May we not be afraid

   to speak of You

or to write of You

   in words and stories.

Infiltrate our conversations today

  and enlarge our vocabularies

that Your Word would linger

    in hearts long afterwards..
