Carry A Big Net

"Put out into the deep

and let down your nets

             for a catch."

And Simon answered,

"Master, we toiled all night

           and took nothing.

But at Your word,

   I will let down the nets."

And when they had done this,

they enclosed a large number of fish,

and their nets were breaking.

                   Luke 5. 4-6

(That's what faithfulness does.

     Keeps on keeping on,

knowing God is doing

   a mighty work,

even in what we cannot comprehend.

God knows

    all the fish we do not see.

May we put out into the deep

       in one way or another,

       and trust Him with it.

Something always results

      when we respond to Him.

We would be astonished

           at what God is doing.

Carry a big net.)

O LORD,

Please grant us the courage

to do the work

   You have set before us.

Help us to trust You

    when there are visible results

and when we don't see a thing.

Empower us with Your strength

     to stay faithful

and abide in You through long nights,

empty nets,

          and calm seas.

Help us to live expectantly,

not for predetermined outcomes,

         but for You.
