And Abraham lifted up his eyes
and looked,
and behold,
behind him was a ram,
caught in the thicket
by his horns.
Genesis 22. 13
(God provides in unexpected ways,
unlikely places,
unusual people,
and impossible situations.
Are we lifting our eyes
from our circumstances?
Or relying on them to change
all by themselves?
Prayer empowers us to see
what God has already provided.
He opens our eyes,
softens our hearts,
and reveals not just an answer,
but His Presence.
God says, "Look at Me.")
O LORD,
When we are confident on our trail,
or overwhelmed by the miry bog
or howls of the wolves,
give us the courage
to lift our eyes to You
and follow You into
what is before us
that only You can unravel.
Help us to behold You
as You hold us
and guide us
to live faithfully before You.
Even when we don't
understand,
help us to trust You in this..
