But Caleb quieted
the people before Moses
and said,
"Let us go up at once
and occupy it,
for we are well able
to overcome it."
Numbers 13. 30
(Do we view our fears
and circumstances
as a reason
not to trust God?
The key is not
"we are not able,"
but God....
How radically different
the story of their journey
and the outcomes,
if they had trusted the LORD
in this.
How radically different
our lives,
if we trusted God.
Not barrelling headlong,
but walking with Him.
How do we approach
this differently
as believers?)
O God,
You go before us.
You walk beside us.
Our courage does not
come from within us,
but from You.
Sometimes that means go.
Mostly that means
stay at our posts.
But always trusting You.
Produce, O LORD,
in us a vision
of Your glory here
in tangible ways
for the well-being
of many.
Let the giants
and fears of our past
be put to rest.
