I will walk with

    integrity of heart

within my house;

I will not set

    before my eyes

anything that is worthless.

(Because we can never know

    what can ensnare us,

we need to walk carefully

without needless

          distractions.

The adversary's

   glittery deception

has always been

   "It doesn't matter.

    No one will know.

    It won't hurt anyone."

It is not just what we do,

  but what it is

          doing to us.

Is it distracting us from God

   or drawing us closer?

Others are also watching us.

Let not our choices

   or justifications

   or behaviors

place a stumbling block

    either before us

    or someone in our lives.)

O LORD,

Life is too short,

our energy too limited,

our relationship with You

        too precious,

to waste our time

         and choices

         and strength

on anything that

  pulls us away from You.

Help us today

  not just to walk away

     from enslavements

               or excuses,

but to walk toward

                     You.

Bind our hearts

          to Yours, O LORD.
