For I know the plans

     I have for you,

declares the LORD,

plans for welfare

    and not for evil,

to give you

       a future and a hope.

Then

you will call upon Me

and come and pray to Me,

        and I will hear you.

You will seek Me

              and find Me,

when you seek Me

       with all your heart.

I will be found by you,

     declares the LORD...

        Jeremiah 29. 11-13

(The first part of the verse,

which is overly quoted,

is the outcome

from the second part,

which is largely ignored.

Are we seeking God

   or a favorable answer?

Are we desiring His goodness

      without Him?)

O LORD,

We call upon You

and come before You,

not just in crisis,

but at the break of

          each dawn,

to not just

     seek Your plans,

not just to see Your hand,

     but to seek You.

You are great

and do wondrous things.

We may not understand

circumstances or outcomes,

but we can trust You.

No matter what,

    You are still God.

And You love us

  deeper than we can know.
