He turns a desert

           into pools of water,

a parched land

     into springs of water.

              Psalm 107. 35

(God changes the landscape.

We have only to be

        faithful to Him,

                right where we are.

Even in what appears a barren place,

      God is bearing fruit,

the seamless connection between

  faithfulness and fruitfulness,

most of which we will never see.)

O LORD,

Someday, someday,

   when all is ripened

   and all is redeemed,

we will stand in awe

       of what You have been doing

                  all along.

We pray for Your flourishing

                in this place,

Your restoring,

Your redeeming,

for the wellbeing and salvation

                   of many people.

It is not that we understand fully

         why we are here,

   but that You are glorified.

Please help us to be faithful

       even here,

       even now.
