(Open my eyes

       and heart

to Your way in this,

           O LORD,

not just for

        what is next,

but what is now.

What is before me,

what is needful today?

There are no insignificant 

            obediences.)

O LORD,

help me to remain ready

     not just in what to do,

     but to be.

Help me to be found in You

   with not just a willing heart,

not just looking for a neon sign

        or an audible voice,

               or somewhere else,

but shoes tied 

     and my eyes on You,

even right here,

even now.

Help me not to miss You

            in this.
