But He would withdraw 

to desolate places

        to pray.

    not last resort.

Carving out time

  and a place to pray

was Jesus’s pattern

   and regular practice.

Pray first about it,

         pray into it.

Not just what’s next,

but what’s now

and what has been.)

O LORD,

please place Your day

        before me,

as I pray to You. 

Align my heart

           to Yours.

Help me to trust You

as You draw me

          closer,

and as You go 

   before me

   into this day.
