Whatever your task,
       work heartily,
as serving the Lord
and not men...

(What has God placed
before me today?
There is nothing small
in His eyes,
nothing He will not use
in mighty ways.)

Thus says the LORD:

        glory in his wisdom,
let not the mighty man
        glory in his might,
let not the rich man
        glory in his riches,
but let him who glories
        glory in this,
that he understands 
                and knows Me,
that I am the LORD
who practice steadfast love,
   justice and righteousness
   in the earth,

Jeremiah 9. 23-24

He cleft rocks in the wilderness,

and gave them drink abundantly

      unexpected.)

I will call to mind
  the deeds of the LORD;
yea, I will remember
  Your deeds of old.
I will meditate
  on all Your work,
and muse 
  on Your mighty deeds.

              Psalm 77.11-12

(Antidote to anxiety--
  dwelling on 
     God's faithfulness
instead of fear.)

...to lead a life

     worthy of the LORD,

fully pleasing to Him,

bearing fruit 

     in every good work,

and increasing

     in the knowledge of God.

             Colossians 1.10

(The only agenda I need,

that which changes me

and changes the world.)

Have no anxiety about anything,

but in everything

by prayer and supplication

             with thanksgiving

let your requests be made known

                         to God.

And the peace of God,

which passes all understanding,

will keep your hearts and minds

                   in Christ Jesus.

                 Philippians 4. 6-7

(In everything,

            about anything.

First response,

   not last resort.)

Do I believe that God is sovereign 

          except in this?

But when I thought

      how to understand this,

it seemed to me 

            a wearisome task,

until I went

   into the sanctuary of God.

                Psalm 73. 16-17

(God changes everything,

even what is wearisome

     into opportunity.

O LORD,

help me to see it with Your heart.)
