Do all things 

        without grumbling or questioning,

For My thoughts are not your thoughts,

          says the LORD.

For as the heavens are higher 

  than the earth,

   higher than your ways.

(God is working deeper still,

  in multiple dimensions,

  for eternal purposes,

  that kind of trusting Him.)

Was it not You who dried up the sea,

the waters of the great deep,

Who made the depths of the sea a way

for the redeemed to pass over?

(Your impossible situation may actually 

be God's means of deliverance,

right through it. Trust Him for what

only He can do.)

Can a woman forget her nursing child,
that she would have no compassion
on the son of her womb?
Even these may forget,
    yet I will not forget you.
Behold, I have graven you
              on the palms of My hands.

                                   Isaiah 49.15

(a visual image of the love of Christ.
You are precious in His sight.)

Blessed be the LORD,

                     Isaiah 28.10

(how we grow in Him)

You keep him in perfect peace,
    whose mind is stayed on You,
because he trusts in You.
Trust in the LORD for ever,
for the LORD GOD is an everlasting rock.

                        Isaiah 26. 3-4

(the outcome of trust,
  the reality of God)

In the shadow of Your wings
   I will take refuge,
till the storms of destruction pass by.
I cry to God Most High,
to God who fulfills His purpose for me.

                                  Psalm 57. 1-2

(His purposes are fulfilled
no matter what is swirling around you.)

...a blessing in the midst of the earth...
                       
                                      Isaiah 19.24

(a mindset, an intention, a reality,
always the outcome of His Presence in our lives)

...the authority which the LORD has given me
for building up and not for tearing down.

                         2 Corinthians 13.10

(the platform He has strategically placed you,
 always for His glory)

Give thanks to the LORD,
call upon His name,
make known His deeds among the nations,
proclaim that His name is exalted...
Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion,
for great in your midst
is the Holy One of Israel.

                         Isaiah 12. 3, 6

(Recognize  and proclaim His mighty work.
 He is moving powerfully in you and all around you.)

This I know,
that God is for me.

                   Psalm 56.9

(He always works from goodness and love,
even too deep for us to comprehend)

But He said to me,

"My grace is sufficient for you,

for My power is made perfect in weakness."

                                2 Corinthians 12.9

(that we may more clearly know Him,

that His power would be evident not just to us,

but to everyone around us as well.

He never intended for us to go it alone.)

Though your sins are like scarlet,
    they shall be white as snow,
though they are as red as crimson,
    they shall become like wool.
If you are willing and obedient,
     you shall eat the good of the land.

                          Isaiah 1. 18-19

(No one stands beyond the grace of God.
That is why Jesus came.
That is how He redeems a life.)

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty,

            God shines forth.

                          Psalm 50.2

(God is evident all around us,

"all things bright and beautiful,

 all creatures great and small."

There is a reason we stand in awe

of the sunrise, a baby's smile, the mountains.)

But I am like an olive tree

in the house of God.

I trust in the steadfast love of God,

for ever and ever.

                       Psalm 52.8

(thriving, evergreen, fruitful.

God can change the course of your life)

The point is this:

He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly,

and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

Each one must do as he has made up his mind,

not reluctantly or under compulsion,

for God loves a cheerful giver.

And God is able

to provide you with every blessing in abundance,

so that you may always have enough of everything 

and may provide in abundance

         for every good work.

                                     2 Corinthians 9. 6-8

(God's investment strategy - sow abundantly, give cheerfully, 

                            and bless joyfully.

      Invest spiritually in the lives of those around you.)

...for we aim at what is honorable

not only in the Lord's sight,

but also in the sight of men.

                     2 Corinthians 8.21

(a life of integrity and grace,

the difference that only God can make)

In the morning sow your seed,
and in the evening withhold not your hand,
for you do not know which will prosper,
this or that,
or whether both alike will be good.

                             Ecclesiastes 11.6

(Do all things with excellence.
God bears fruit in ways we will never see.)

Whatever your hand finds to do,
do it with all your might.

                    Ecclesiastes 9.10

(And God will be glorified by means of it.
Nothing is insignificant in God's eyes.)

For God is the king of all the earth;
sing praises with a psalm.

                                   Psalm 47.7

(an outward acknowledgement of His power,
  goodness, and the reality of Who He is)

The LORD of hosts is with us,

the God of Jacob is our refuge.

                            Psalm 46.7

(no matter how great the obstacles,

God has it under control.

God will prevail.)

For I know that You can do all things,
and that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted.

                             Job 42.2

(how much do we trust Him?)
