For he held fast to the LORD;
he did not depart from following Him,
but kept the commandments
which the LORD commanded Moses.
And the LORD was with him;
wherever he went forth,
he prospered.
2 Kings 18. 6-7
(Hold fast, go forth.
Prosper means to thrive not dependent on the circumstances
around you)

Then he said to the king of Israel,
"Draw the bow." And he drew it.
And Elisha laid his hands upon the king's hands.
And he said, "Open the window eastward,"
and he opened it.
Then Elisha said, "Shoot," and he shot.
And he said,
"The LORD's arrow of victory..."
2 Kings 13. 16-17
(Seeking His guidance in all things
and following how He leads
provides the measure of victory
--no matter the apparent outcome --
because God will establish His purpose).

For the enemy has pursued me;
he has crushed my life to the ground;
he has made me sit in darkness like those long dead.
Therefore my spirit faints within me,
my heart within me is appalled.
I remember the days of old,
I meditate on all that You have done,
I muse on what Your hands have wrought,
I stretch out my hands to You;
my soul thirsts for You like a parched land.
Psalm 143. 3-6
(antidote to despair:
remember, meditate on, muse on His faithfulness.
Keep a notebook of His faithfulness to you.)

When the servant of the man of God rose early in the morning
and went out, behold,
an army with horses and chariots was round about the city.
And the servant said,
"Alas, my master! What shall we do?"
He said, "Fear not,
for those who are with us
are more than those who are with them."
Then Elisha prayed, and said,
"O LORD, I pray to you,
open his eyes that he may see."
So the LORD opened the eyes of the young man,
and he saw, and behold,
the mountain was full of horses
and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
2 Kings 6. 15-17
(what shall we do when we are overwhelmed?
Fear not, pray, and SEE.

you are surrounded by His Presence).

Then Elijah took his mantle, and rolled it up,
and struck the water,
and the water was parted to the one side
and to the other,
till the two of them could go
over on dry ground.
2 Kings 2.8

what appears impossible,
sometimes a path you could never
have even imagined.
God loves "impossible" situations
because through them
His power is revealed)

Unless the LORD builds the house,
those who build it labor in vain.
Unless the LORD watches over the city,
the watchman stays awake in vain.
Psalm 127.1
(That the LORD is not part of your endeavors,
but the essence --the very core--
of everything you do.
Not fitting God into my day,
but following Him into
His day for me).

...may He maintain the cause of His servant...
as each day requires
that all the peoples of the earth
may know that the LORD is God;
there is no other.
Let your heart therefore
be wholly true to the LORD our God,
walking in His statutes
and keeping His commandments.

Blessed
is every one who fears the LORD,
who walks in His ways.
You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands,
you shall be happy,
and it shall be well with you.
Psalm 128. 1-2

are blessed,
because they seek God
and not that which cannot satisfy or fulfill)

Those who trust in the LORD
are like Mount Zion,
which cannot be moved,
but abides for ever.
As the mountains are round about Jerusalem,
so the LORD is round about His people,
from this time forth
and for evermore.
Psalm 125. 1-2
(Those who trust in the LORD
are firmly established
and encompassed on all sides.
Trust Him through the turmoil around you.)

The LORD is my rock,
and my fortress,
and my deliverer,
my God,
my rock,
in Whom I take refuge,
my shield,
and the horn of my salvation,
my stronghold and my refuge,
my savior,
You save me from violence.
I call upon the LORD,
Who is worthy to be praised,
and I am saved from my enemies.
